Four of One Hundred Things

posted Friday, 9 November 2007

I love to take pictures.

I love how they can tell amazing grand stories.  A split second in time captured.  Here are some pictures that make me happy everytime I see them, and feel privileged to have been the one behind the camera.

This was taken in a butterfly garden.  It was pure luck that I was able to get such detail but it's simply beautiful.  There were thousands of butterflies in this garden and this is just one of the great pictures I got.

This is Oak Alley Plantation in Louisiana.  It was here that I had my first Mint Julep and though I know I was a bit drunk, I remember how beautiful and grand these trees were. Oh and the Mint Juleps were quite delicious, too.

The view from the balcony of my room in Oahu, HI.  I see this picture and remember waking up and having a morning swim before breakfast.  The water was warm and clear.  It was fantastic.

This picture makes me think of a National Geographic or Animal Planet advertisment - something you'd find on Meerkat Manor.  I actually took this picture at Animal Kingdom in Disneyworld in Florida.  They have this safari ride that is like a pretend African safari, except the animals are real.  Elephants and giraffes and zebras.  I knew it was the only time I'd ever see animals like this up close... well close enough for zoom to get good pictures.

I took this picture through my windshield while driving home from Las Vegas.  I was alone, it was February and I was a bit afraid it would start to snow.  Let's just say I don't do well driving really bad weather.  Thankfully there was no snow and I made it home safely.

I'd like to take some photography classes if I ever get the time.
